Scoring System & Rankings
How points are earned, counted, and ranked.
How Points Are Earned
Points are awarded after an organizer settles points for an event. There are two ways to earn points:
- Check-in points: 100 points for every checked-in registration. A registration is one session + slot pair.
- If an event has 2 sessions and you check in to both, you earn 200 points.
- If a session allows multiple slots and you check in to Slot 1 and Slot 2, you earn 200 points from that session.
- If an event has 2 sessions and 2 slots each, and you check in all 4, you earn 400 points.
- Podium points: awarded when you finish on the podium of a session.
- 1st place: 800 points
- 2nd place: 550 points
- 3rd place: 350 points
- 4th place: 200 points
- 5th place: 100 points
- 6th place and beyond: 50 points
Placements beyond 5th give a flat 50 points. This is a tiebreaker tier so 6th place is still recognized above a player who only checked in.
Both point types stack. For example, if you check in to 2 slots in a session and finish 1st in that session, you earn 200 check-in points + 800 podium points = 1,000 points for that event.
The values above are for events run by verified organizers. Community events (created by regular users) award the same points at half rate — 50 per check-in, 400 for 1st place, and so on.
Sessions & Slots
Events can have one or more sessions. Each session can allow one or more slots per player.
- Session: one round or tournament. A multi-session event is like two separate rounds in one day.
- Slot: an extra entry by the same player in the same session. Slot 1 is your first entry, Slot 2 is your second entry, and so on. This is used when a player is allowed multiple entries, such as multiple decks.
- Check-in is per session and slot. If you have 2 sessions with 1 slot each, you can check in to both for 200 points. If a session has 2 slots and you check in to both, each slot earns 100 points.
- Podium is per session. A player can podium once per session, not once per slot.
Rankings Explained
The leaderboard ranks players by Total Points in a season and category.
- Points: sum of all check-in and podium points from events in the selected season and category.
- Matches: number of distinct events you earned points from. Attending multiple sessions or slots of the same event still counts as one match.
- Points Average: your total points divided by your number of matches. Used to break ties when two players have the same total points.
- Wins: number of 1st-place podium finishes.
Tie-break order: Total Points → Points Average → Best Podium Placement → Average Podium Placement → Podium Count → Wins → Earliest Check-in → Earliest Registration → display name.
Earliest check-in / registration: when everything above is tied, the player who checked in or registered earlier is ranked higher. This is mainly to break the large tie you see after a single tournament.
Seasons
- Rankings are split by season. A season is based on the event date.
- Season 1 starts at Q4 2026 (October 1).
- Each quarter is a new season.
- Points do not carry over between seasons.
- Use the season filter on the Rankings page to view past seasons.
Filtering Rankings
- Category: filter by game or hobby category.
- Season: view the current season or a previous season.
- Location: filter by country, state, or division to see local rankings.
Common Questions
I checked in but my total points are 0.
Points are only added after the organizer settles them. This usually happens when podium results are posted for a past event. If the event has not ended or podium has not been posted yet, your points will not appear.
Why does my friend have more matches than me for the same event?
One event counts as one match, even if it has multiple sessions or slots. If you see different numbers, it usually means one player earned points from a different event as well.
Do check-in points and podium points stack?
Yes. If you check in and finish on the podium, you receive both the check-in points and the podium points for that session.
Do slots give extra matches?
No. Matches are counted per event, not per slot. However, each checked-in slot does add 100 check-in points to your total points.
Can I podium in every slot?
Podium is per session, not per slot. Even if you have Slot 1 and Slot 2 in the same session, the podium result for that session is for you as a player, not per slot.
Do 6th, 7th, and 8th place get points?
Yes. Any placement beyond 5th gives a flat 50 podium points on top of the 100 check-in points. This is meant to keep top finishers ranked above players who only checked in.
Why am I ranked below another player with the same points?
The leaderboard uses tie-breakers. If your total points are the same, it looks at points average, best podium placement, average podium placement, podium count, wins, earliest check-in, and earliest registration — in that order.
